Tip 1: Inspiration
Look for inspiration, You can find inspiration any where,
what do you like ,
what do you think will look cool.
Everybody has their own tastes , so it really comes down to the individual.
Google inspirational ideas based on your project,
Google logo designs based on your theme,
Google all types of topics related to your project..
You found inspiration…
While doing your google image research, you will stumble across some cool ideas and be instantly inspired with endless ideas for your cool logo design.
You may see a font or picture you like,
you may see a style of logo you want to emulate,
you may see an idea you want to borrow and make it cooler and make it in your own style.
Put all your ideas together…
Print out your images and research material you found.
Tip 2: Rough Sketches
Now is the fun part,
Start sketching some ideas, based on your research document. Use ideas you found, sketch them in your own way, make it suitable for your idea.
While sketching your imagination will start to create and discover something you may have not even thought about.
You can borrow an idea from something you found and mix and match various images to come up with your own cool new idea.
Tip 3: Choose your final idea
Refine your sketch, do multiple sketches if needed.
Choose your final concept and stick with it.
Scan it into your PC and start the design process in your preferred design program.
Tip 4: DESIGN TIME:
Now start to re-draw your logo idea.
Transform your sketch into a vector based program (Adobe illustrator) and start your design process.
While re-creating your sketch on the pc, you may find areas that need improvement and refining.
You can sort out minor details in your design program, which weren’t addressed in your sketch.
While designing in your design program , your initial sketch may evolve while creating your vector artwork.
Tip 5: Try different styles and colours:
When designing you can try different things on the pc as it’s easy to undo your changes.
Save various files as you experiment, in-case you need to go back to the original.
Always save your work….
